The clients purchased their home several years ago and have been renovating in sections over time. The expansive ranch style home had already been altered several times prior to their ownership, and therefore presented some unique design challenges. Differing elevations across the property have presented the most significant challenge - with this being especially evident where the former garage meets the laundry room in the rear of the home.
With this project, the clients were looking to enclose the existing breezeway and renovate the garage into a flexible entertainment/lounge space that could easily adapt to meet the needs of their family over the coming years. We met and discussed their needs, including their personal vision for the space.
I was able to present the clients with three design options. The first was a reflection of their specific ask and idea of what they wanted to see, with the remaining two options being original designs that I created based on my assessment of the space and their desires. Each option came with a set of renderings to provide a visual reference.
We are continuing to work on evolving this preliminary design and look forward to seeing the finished product once the renovation is completed.
